Yesterday an 18-year-old man was arrested after recklessly driving a stolen vehicle, and threatening a bystander with a knife.

At approximately 3:30 PM on Monday the 17th of April, it is alleged the man stole a Silver Hyundai Lantra and performed a number of burnouts on Crozier Circuit in Kambah.

Witnesses reported that the man lost control and crashed into a retaining wall before running away from the vehicle.

A bystander approached the driver, but the man pulled a large hunting knife from his pocket, threatening him.

A short time later, police attended a Kambah residence where the offender was arrested.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday, 18 April) on charges of drive motor vehicle without consent, possess offensive weapon with intent, aggravated furious/reckless/dangerous driving and learner driver unaccompanied.
