Man caught on camera robbing Subway Manuka at knifepoint

A knife-wielding man has been caught on CCTV robbing the Subway restaurant in Manuka last Friday morning before casually walking away.

Police are seeking witnesses to the robbery which took place around 11.45 am on Friday, December 1.

The CCTV footage shows the man walking casually towards the Subway store in Manuka Plaza before entering the fast-food restaurant, pulling a knife and jumping the counter to threaten staff.

The man, who was wearing a black hooded jumper and blue gloves, harasses the two staff members with the knife and then removes the money in a cash-register before jumping the counter again and making off. Police report that he went in the direction of Red Hill.

The man is described as being in his twenties or thirties and Caucasian in appearance. He is around 175 cm (5’9”) tall, of medium build and clean shaven.

ACT Policing has urged anyone who witnessed the event or who has information which could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously but please quote reference 6205256.
