A 30-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 13 March) charged with the murder of a 56-year-old man in Gungahlin on Monday.
About 2 am on Monday police were called to a residence in Gungahlin following reports of an altercation and found a 56-year-old man with critical injuries. Officers performed CPR, however the man died at the scene.
Police said it had been a horrific attack and the man had suffered significant blood loss, but they would not say how he had been killed.
Police will allege the 30-year-old man was involved in the altercation before leaving the residence. He was arrested a short time later near Manning Clark Crescent.
The men are not believed to be related, but police believe they were known to each other.
Police will oppose bail.
