Moving: How much should we expect to pay (removalist, home cleaner) in Canberra?

Hello,

We live in a one bed room apartment in Belconnen and planning to move to inner north in January.

Now we are budgeting the cost of the move and we thought we could get some advice from you guys.

If we use professional removalist and end-of-lease cleaner, how much should we expect to pay (roughly)?

Any advice or recommendation for those services would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, for a 1 bedroom apartment normally takes 2 to 2:30 hours.

You should move all the small items yourself and let the removalists deal with the big heavy ones.

jayskette,
Thanks for the info and advice! I did not think about asking real state agent which cleaner they use. Good to know!
Blamemonkey,
Thanks for your advice! We are actually thinking about using removalist just for large things too. By moving small things by ourselves save some time for removalist, I guess 😉

By the way, always use the cleaner your real estate agent uses.

The advise I came to give.

My house mates and I used two men and a truck as well but just for large things as we suffered from small car syndrome, and didn’t want to burden my mates. Keep in mind that movers charge per hour and this includes travel time.

By the way, always use the cleaner your real estate agent uses.

We just moved from a tiny 2 bedroom in Balconnen and the end of lease clean was $500 – it included steam carpet clean and yard cleaning. The move was around $600 (2 men and a 2 tonne truck).
