One dead, three with life-threatening injuries after incident in Page

Police are investigating an incident in Page this morning (20 February, 2021) that has left one person dead and three seriously injured.

About 9 am Saturday, police were called to a disturbance on Braine Street and spoke to a man suffering significant injuries.

They were providing first aid when they identified another man, who rushed towards them and was subsequently tasered.

A short time later, they found another injured person and one person dead.

Three people, including the man arrested by police, were treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.

There are no further people believed to be involved incident.

Police want to reassure the public that there are no on-going public safety concerns in relation to this incident, however the street has been locked down as forensic teams hunt for evidence.

A large-scale police operation has been established, with the house cordoned off and protective barriers put in place.
