- ACT Policing arrested two males and will summons a third to court after a burglary at a residence in Holt yesterday afternoon (May 26).
The three males were apprehended after police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Bunton Place about 3.10pm. An amount of property was located in their possession, allegedly stolen from a nearby residence earlier in the day.
A 20-year-old man will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (May 27) charged with aggravated burglary and theft, whilst a 16-year-old male will face the ACT Children’s Court this morning (May 27) on an aggravated burglary charge. A third male, aged 19, will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on similar charges.
Police have commended the awareness and diligence of the member of the public who contacted them to report the suspicious activity, ultimately leading to the arrests.
Anyone who sees suspicious activity in their neighbourhood is encouraged to contact police on 131 444. A detailed description of the suspicious person/s, including their clothing, will assist police in their efforts to locate them.

2. Motorcycle crash victim named:
- ACT Policing has released the name of the 57-year-old man who was killed in a single motorcycle collision in Monash yesterday afternoon (May 26).
Dennis Finnigan, of Oxley, died after his motorcycle crashed into a pole at the intersection of Ashley Drive and Erindale Drive, Monash about 4.40pm yesterday.
The ACT road toll for 2009 now stands at five.
Any witnesses to the collision who are yet to contact police are urged to call Crime Stoppers.
