You may have seen the films or heard the records but nothing compares to the experience of immersing yourself in the astral sea that is Magic Rob Universe live in concert. The artist said it best: “Magic Rob and his magical assistants shall again be materialising at one of their favourite portals into the unpredictable and divine.” You wouldn’t want to miss that. See it for yourself this Saturday at Smith’s Alternative.
Following on from the recent announcement the band is coming to an end, Please To Jive You continue their victory lap at Transit Bar this Thursday playing alongside Fripps & Fripps and Swift Peaks. Jive have soundtracked the changing landscapes of Canberra’s music scene for the best part of a decade and the chance to see them one last time before they disappear is a blessing indeed.
Though it isn’t strictly speaking a ‘gig’, MusicACT’s Music Chats returns to Smith’s Alternative this Sunday. This time around the focus will be on songwriting. Expect insight and conversation from a diverse cross-section of the music industry: film composers, singer-songwriters and music producers alike.
