Roosters make a feather duster out of Todd Carney.

The SMH reports that even the permissive culture of the silvertailed Sydney Roosters has had enough of former Canberra bad boy Todd Carney.

Todd’s hoping another club will pick him up, failing that he’s off to France where if he keeps up his wild ways it’s a matter of time before he gets stabbed.

Really? I haven’t met any of them.

Ask anyone in Goulburn what they think of the Carney family.

My oath. Pretty sure that “loveable” was never a term applied to him, even in his younger days. Arrogant, violent and grog-fuelled. You’ve got to be pretty appalling to be kicked out of Goulburn. It’s a shame because he is a good footballer, but it’s not enough.

Maybe we can get Carney to task on the roadworks at Glenloch during the day?

Actually, on second thoughts, he’s probably too unreliable (even for that).

Many people here saw him as a loveable larrikin who liked a beer – a roughnut who was an ideal Aussie because he played sport – but on the continent he will be looked down on as an uncouth colonial from an unsophisticated backwater.

I wonder if the guy that he p!ssed on thought he was a loveable larrikin.

“Oh look, I’m getting pissed on by Todd Carney, what a loveable larrikin!”

Loveable-really? I am pretty sure you could not have been any further off the mark…Carney is an irresponsible clown with a string of convictions who has disappointed most of the people who gave him his multitude of second chances.

If he does go to France he will soon find out that the French are rather arrogant and will not cut him as much slack as the easy-going Aussies.

Leaving aside arguments as to the accuracy of this stereotype, you don’t have to be arrogant to not want to put up with fools.

If that’s an “ideal Aussie” I’m off to France too.

We sometimes make the mistake of believing the rest of the world has the same attitudes and values as ourselves, but in reality things are quite different and the ugly Australian soon finds himself ostracised and in a lot of trouble very quickly.

Because apparently being kicked out of two football clubs and your own home town isn’t enough of a hint.
