Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Illidan, the domestic shorthair, and Yoda, the Staffy cross Jedi Master, are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Do you think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Cat of the Week: Illidan

Illidan is an affectionate, loving and interactive cat! Each day, she sits noticeably atop her scratching tower, trying to get people to meet her. Alas, she remains alone at the top of her tower.

She loves to meet you and then flop down in front of you for pats and attention. She especially loves ear scratches and chin rubs. Have I mentioned she’s rather affectionate?

Perhaps Illidan is still waiting to be rescued from her tower because of her dietary needs. She needs a specific type of food to avoid illness, you see. But after Easter, as we wipe the chocolate from our cheeks and curse the chocolate stains on our shirts, can any of us say we have a perfect diet?

When you visit Illidan, you’ll see she’s beautiful and great company. She’s an indoor cat looking for a quiet, peaceful home where she can have you all to herself.

Dog of the Week: Yoda

This American Staffy Terrier is a gorgeous girl; enjoy her company you will, hmm? **Yoda voice

Yoda will be your sidekick, the Chewy to your Han. She won’t overexpress herself; instead, she likes to politely lean into you to let you know she’s there and that she isn’t going anywhere.

She’s quiet, stays calm and peaceful, and needs an owner or family with the same values of a predictable, loving household. She’ll be like glue to a family and children; she will bond and be loyal to a fault.

Yoda loves toys. She’ll normally carry her favourite around, which is as adorable as it sounds. Although she’s from an outdoor environment, she has shown a preference and aptitude for living indoors. Basically, she wants to be wherever you are.

Visit Yoda and spend some time with her. She’ll be a wonderful addition to a family with a backyard. Come and see!

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!

Found two guinea pigs callously left by a major road a couple of weeks ago and rang the RSPCA but got no response when I left a message. Luckily eventually got someone to give them a good home eventually.
