Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Belle the dog and Charlie the cat are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!
Dog of the week: Belle
What you’ve probably heard about greyhounds is true: they make exceptional pets. They are kind, gentle, loyal and, despite their appearance, very lazy! They genuinely make great pets and don’t assume they need vigorous exercise to stay slim and trim, they really don’t.
Belle is all those things and more. But what she needs most is a chance to become a pet. Like many ex-racing animals, she’ll need to be housetrained, but she’s more than capable of learning.
We’ve learned a lot about Belle: she’s keen to interact with other dogs, a bit anxious in stormy weather and she’ll benefit from a home where the adults are around most of the time.
For a lifelong friend and lounge lizard companion to watch reruns of Midsomer Murders with you all day long, this is your girl.
Drop by the shelter at Weston, you’ll see Belle’s beautiful eyes and that adorable smile and hopefully you’ll say, “I want to adopt her!”
Cat of the week: Charlie
Charlie is a young girl, just one year old and she’s already proven to be a caring, gentle and committed mum.
Now her kittens have moved on, she’s in desperate need of people to talk to. She really is affectionate and loves human attention. In the right home, she can live with children and even dogs. She’s super chill. Chillaxed, as the kids say.
She’s a Domestic Short Hair, indoor cat who could compete at the Cat Olympics (if such an event existed). She’s very athletic.
Charlie’s perfect home is with a loving human, maybe a secure outdoor area or at least a window to look out of. But no other cats, please. She’ll be doing all the talking, thank you very much.
Come and meet Charlie, and stay for the chat!
Paw note: Last week’s Rabbit of the Week, the adorable and enormous Ruby was adopted. We miss her fluffy ears.
