Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Broc and Zac are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cat of the Week – Broc

Meet big softie Broc!

Broc came to shelter as a stray and was initially very unsure of people. He has since spent plenty of time getting to know us and has blossomed into a friendly cat with a shining personality. He’s still learning to communicate like a regular cat and will sometimes hiss a bit when he meets new people. Don’t be put off; he’s just trying to say hello.

He’ll reveal his loving nature as soon as you offer him your lap. In fact, he gets so comfortable you might struggle ever standing up again for fear of disturbing him!

Broc needs a cosy and safe home where he can continue learning to be comfortable around new people. It will take him a bit of time to gain confidence, especially in new environments, but we’re confident that it shouldn’t take long with the growth he’s shown thus far. All you’ll need is a bit of patience and time to cuddle!

While living on the streets, Broc acquired FIV, so he’ll need to be an indoor-only cat, but we think he’d enjoy a cat run of some kind to sunbathe and play in. If you think you could provide the purr-fect retirement house for Broc, fill out an application to meet him!

Zac

Zac would love to be the newest member of an active family.

Dog of the Week – Zac

Zac is a very cute character who is looking for a loving home and family to adopt him.

Zac shows a lot of interest in people and is eager to be involved in what’s going on. Curious about the world, he likes meeting new people and receiving lots of welcome pats. Zac will need daily exercise with his new owners; he’s a dream to walk on the lead as he has great manners. Very happy and content to trot alongside his walker, Zac will make a great companion for someone who is fairly active.

Zac is very keen to earn and treats and shows great focus if there’s a snack involved! He likes playing with toys and would be quite content to amuse himself with a chew toy. Zac would benefit from a home where he’s welcome inside and feels part of the family, whether lazing on the couch with you or patiently waiting in the kitchen for extra treats.

Zac has shown that he can meet other dogs but prefers the company of his people. At this stage, he’s best as an only dog and happiest bonding with his family. Zac is a little anxious at times and is currently on medication for this issue. This may be an ongoing treatment, but it is easily managed.

We think Zac would make a nice family dog and recommend him for a home with children aged 8 years and older.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
