Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Chakra, Aura and Gus are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cats of the Week – Chakra & Aura

You may struggle getting Chakra and Aura in perfect alignment! That would be because these two cuddly cats love to snuggle into their owners and take turns in the prime lap position. This bonded pair were, unfortunately, returned to the RSPCA when they didn’t get along with a family dog, so they’re seeking a new home where they can be the only pets.

These lovely ladies are truly the best of friends and the staff here love watching them play with each other. They are mature ladies and need a home with slightly older children who understand cat behaviour.

True to their names, Chakra and Aura are quite a calming presence around people. The way they loop around your legs and snuggle into your hands for pats is almost meditative. Thankfully the two have quite distinctive, beautiful coats, so you’ll never be confusing your Chakra for your Aura (and that’s good karma).

If you’re looking for a loving, soothing presence around your home, these perfect cats might just be what you’re looking for. Our hope is they find a family or companion that appreciates what special cats they are.

Dog of the Week – Gus

Darling older boy Gus is looking for a retirement home. Gus is at a relaxed age where he would like nothing more than enjoy his retirement by curling up on a comfortable bed or couch and keep his new owners company. He is particularly partial to a nice scratch, tummy or head is fine by him, so long as they’re often! Gus is still active enough for a gentle stroll around the streets and is quite keen on having a good explore with his nose.

While not yet a senior dog, Gus can be a slightly grumpy older man around other dogs and does not like them invading his space. He better suits a solo dog environment, particularly as it means he gets the lion’s share of pats and cuddles.

Gus may be an older gentleman but he has certainly retained his puppy eyes! One of his best features, new owners need to be prepared to give in to his adoring stare.

We think Gus would be a good fit with children 10 years and older.

Gus has a lot of love to give in his life and we can’t wait for him to find an owner prepared to return it to him 10-fold.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
