Eleni

Will you be the lucky new owner of Eleni?

Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Eleni and Maisie are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Eleni

Meet gorgeous playful lady Eleni! Eleni came to us as a stray and unfortunately no-one came looking for her. This is especially sad because she is so sweet and friendly! She can be a bit nervous in new situations, so she looks to people for reassurance. Eleni absolutely loves the tennis ball and would happily play fetch for days. She is very quick on the chase for it and brings it right back to you, the only problem you might encounter is getting her to give it up at the end! A yard with some space would be best for Eleni so she can explore and play with her new family.

Eleni is very food motivated so plenty of treats are in order to support her enrichment. We think Eleni would make an excellent family dog, but her high energy means she can be boisterous when playing so a home with children 12 years and older who can manage her would be perfect. Eleni is a friendly loving dog and would be a valuable addition to any family who are looking for a canine companion to love. If you think you could offer this lovely lady a loving place in your home, book an appointment to come meet her, you won’t regret it.

Maisie

Maisie is ready for a forever home!

Cat of the Week – Maisie

Maisie is a very vocal and sweet girl, who came to the RSPCA in January, very pregnant. Maisie gave birth to 5 beautiful kittens in February who have since found their forever home. A lovely mum and a natural nurturer Maisie is a very affectionate cat, who follows you around and loves to be stroked. She does not mind being picked up but does not like to be held for long. She may need some time to settle in, but once settled and comfortable she may come on your lap.

She was very comfortable with the older dog of the foster family but did not get on well with the family cat. Maisie is still very young, playful and energetic and would do well in a home that can offer her the toys she needs to keep her occupied. In her time with us, we discovered that Maisie has some digestion issues, most likely IBS. She requires a special diet and will likely need further veterinary care in the future, so her new owners will need to be able to accommodate this. We highly recommend that potential adopters speak to their own vet about management of this before making an appointment.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
