Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Otter and Tinkerbelle are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.
Rabbit of the Week – Otter
Meet the beautiful bunny rabbit Otter! This little lady is a social girl, with a bit of sass, who found her way to the shelter through no fault of her own. Otter has had some handling in her previous home, but at times can be a tiny bit nervous. The more time you spend with Otter, the more likely she will relax and open up.
While Otter doesn’t love to be picked up too much, she does enjoy a gentle pat while sitting in your lap. Otter would be best suited as an outdoor bunny. But she will need a secure weatherproof hutch, with some extra space to stretch out her legs and, of course, some fresh green grass to munch on.
Otter has the reputation of being an Olympic high-jumper so her enclosure must be secure to ensure she doesn’t hop out! Otter has previously lived with another rabbit so could live with a desexed male rabbit of similar size, given very controlled and slow introductions.
Otter is looking for a safe and loving new forever home. She would prefer to live with older mature children who will understand how to respect her needs and boundaries.
Dog of the Week – Tinkerbelle
Tinkerbelle the dog is a lovely girl who deserves the world. Tinkerbelle can take some time to warm up to new people, but once she knows you, be prepared for loving slobbery kisses! Tinkerbelle has had a pretty unpredictable life so far so now this darling girl would love a secure home where she can spend and enjoy the rest of her life!
Sweet Tink loves a tennis ball and enjoys her daily walks out of the shelter with our volunteers. She is a big strong girl so is looking for a physically capable owner who can continue with her regular exercise sessions. Tinkerbelle will love regular exercise adventures to keep her both happy and healthy.
Her loving forever home will need 6-foot Colourbond fencing to ensure she stays safe and secure in her new home. This lovely lady is not very fond of other dogs so would prefer to be the only canine creature in her new household!
Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
