It’s about to feel a lot like Christmas at Westfield Belconnen and Westfield Woden this weekend, as both centres welcome Santa’s arrival with a special parade and lots of fun family activities on Saturday 8 November.

Led by husky dogs and a marching band, join Santa, Mrs Claus and other festive characters as they celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The parade at Westfield Belconnen starts at 10am outside Cold Rock in the dining precinct on Lathlain Street and makes its way through the centre.

After the parade ends, don’t miss the Candyland Christmas show with singing and dancing, and then be one of the first to get your annual Christmas photo taken when Santa photos officially begin at 1pm.

At Westfield Woden the Santa parade will start at the fresh food market entrance on Keltie Street at 12:30pm.

Santa is available for photos Saturday 8 November to Wednesday 24 December at both centres. Visit the website for dates and timings.

But the fun doesn’t end there. Saturday 8 November is also Westfield’s GiveAbility Day, which means that both Westfield Belconnen and Westfield Woden will host a range of fun activities to raise money for charity partner, Cerebral Palsy Alliance ACT.

At Westfield Belconnen, you can enjoy face painting, fairy floss, popcorn, live music, yogurt decorating by Yogurtland and a raffle featuring prizes from retailers including HarrisScarfe, Pandora and Max Brenner. For those on Canberra’s south side, Westfield Woden offers a sausage sizzle, lolly guessing, a coin mural, fairy floss, face painting and a nail bar. 100% of all funds raised go directly to Cerebral Palsy ACT, and Westfield matches each donation dollar for dollar.

This is just the beginning of an exciting festive season at Westfield. Don’t miss out having breakfast with Santa at Westfield Belconnen and Westfield Woden on Saturday 8 December.
