ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Wanniassa yesterday evening (Sunday, May 1).

About 9.20pm a pizza delivery driver attended an address in Ashley Circuit, Wanniassa to deliver some pizzas. After delivering the pizzas the driver was walking back to his car when a man ran towards him brandishing a knife. The male offender held the knife to the victim’s throat and demanded the victim hand over his wallet and mobile phone.

The offender removed a sum of money from the victim’s wallet before telling the victim to walk towards Ashley Drive. The offender was last seen running in the opposite direction towards the Erindale Shopping Centre.

The offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 183 cm (6’) tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark coloured pants and a white bandanna with a black motif on it covering the lower part of his face.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen a person matching the description to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Maybe the thug was incensed at the wait. My Wanniassa pizza delivery took more than 90 mins, about an hour before this robbery.
