ABC Online has this piece on Jupiter being visible in the eastern sky as a point of light this afternoon. So get out of the office and go have a look at another world.
I went out sometime between 11 and midnight. When not obscured by clouds, I could see the moon with a bright white spot several degrees below it. And when I say several degrees, that’s purely an uneducated guess. Another way of uneducated-guessing it would be to say the visual space between them was roughly the same as that between the top and bottom stars of the southern cross.
Thar she blows, just went outside at 1605 and had a look up at the moon and just above it was a tiny white speck which would be Jupiter, either that or I had spots in front of my eyes
Went out for a quick look and the moon is easily visible but no point of light near it yet at 1510, will check again later
