ACT Policing has arrested a 17-year-old male over the robbery at the IGA supermarket in Ainslie last month.
Around 12.20am on Friday July 23 three males approached an employee after closing and threatened him with a knife, forcing him to re-open the store. The offenders stole an amount of cash and cigarettes and left the store on foot.
A search warrant was executed at a residential home and on two vehicles yesterday evening (August 4) with the youth being arrested a short time later at the location.
The young person will face the ACT Children’s Court today (Thursday August 5) charged with aggravated robbery, possession of a prohibited substance and unlawful possession of stolen property.

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery of a 75-year-old male which occurred in Lyneham last night (August 4).
About 6.40pm last night the elderly male was walking home on the bike path behind the Lyneham Primary School when he was approached by two males on bikes.
One of the males demanded money from the victim. The elderly male handed over his wallet to the offender who then opened the wallet and removed the money. The offenders were last seen headed north on their bikes towards Brigalow Street.
One of the offenders is described as being 16 to 17 years of age, with a solid build, wearing a dark grey hooded top, dark trousers and dark gloves. The bike he was riding was possibly a mountain bike.
The second offender is described as 16 to 17years of age and wearing a dark hooded top.
