Amaroo man Antony Schuster charged over allegedly stealing a police car

A man has been arrested and charged over allegedly stealing a police car in O’Connor earlier this week.

Antony Adrian Schuster, 27, was arrested in his home suburb of Amaroo and made no application for bail nor entered pleas when he appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday (11 March).

The court heard he is accused of stealing a vehicle belonging to ACT Policing, damaging a fence, having Porsche keys in his possession that are suspected of being stolen, as well as stealing a Suzuki all on Wednesday (9 March).

He is also accused of riding in a stolen vehicle on Tuesday and attempting to escape arrest on Thursday.

Magistrate James Lawton remanded Mr Schuster in custody and adjourned the matter to 8 April.

Mr Schuster’s charges include taking a motor vehicle without authority, attempting to escape custody, robbery, damaging property, riding in a car without consent and unlawful possession of stolen property.
