I would be disappointed if Kevin moved here. A PM should be with his people. Considering there are about 20 million Ausies and only 300k in Canberra (which is isolated and nowhere near as diverse a population compared to other cities), it doesn’t make sense to live at the lodge.

Agreed with you there, Thumper. I couldn’t care whether or not the PM (with or without his family) lives in the Lodge, and I think Canberra media should get over it.

Rudd was pretty clear in his press conference this afternoon. He will live at the Lodge. I guess it is possible the family won’t be joining him on a permanent basis.

Maybe she’s just talking about her and the kids?

Maybe Terry is just worried about the prospect of having to live near Stanhope for the next few years.

Kevin stated during the election campaign that he would base himself in Qld, so I would be surprised if the family moved down..

This is unlikely, but not impossible: maybe the quote was from the day of the election, or before, thus the “if” was “if labor wins”.

Maybe the “if” refers to Therese and Marcus. Perhaps they are considering the option of the rest of the family remaining in Brisbane while Kevin moves here alone. (Wouldn’t be great for the marriage, but it could work).

Or perhaps Therese is in denial?
