Strangely, most media reports about Therese Rein’s “fact finding mission” to Canberra except for this one from ABC chopped out a key (to Canberrans anyway) bit at the end of her quote. Her full grab was:
“I’m actually on a fact-finding mission really to find out about possible schools for [our son] Marcus and to go back and have a discussion with him about what the options might be if we move down here.” [Al’s emphasis]
Disappointing given the pretty clear assurances given, that there would even be an “if” in that statement, particularly after the hoo-hah from Labor about the extra costs caused by everyone trucking up to Kirribilli all the time.
And how does one offer the requisite security on a suburban house in Brissy?
It wouldn’t be a good way to kick things off…
