Search for three suspected stolen vehicles abandoned in Belconnen area

Police have called on the community to help locate three suspected stolen vehicles which are believed to have been abandoned in the Belconnen region.

Officers responded to reports of three vehicles travelling together in the area at about 11 am on Friday (13 October) where the occupants appeared to be scouting homes.

Police were able to spot the vehicles when they responded to the reports, however lost sight of them a short time later.

At about 12:10 pm a group of four boys matching the description of those inside the vehicles were found on foot in Kaleen and were arrested.

It’s believed the three vehicles were abandoned in the surrounding area.

Members of the public in Kaleen, Lawson and surrounding suburbs are asked to check driveways, carports, and public parking in apartment and townhouse complexes for the vehicles.

They are a white Volkswagen bearing ACT registration YKL33X, a grey BMW bearing ACT registration YMO26J, and a blue Subaru bearing ACT registration YPT35Z.

Anyone with information regarding the vehicles is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference P2199850. Information can be provided anonymously.
