An 83-year-old Braddon man will face the ACT Magistrates Court next week charged with three acts of indecency on a young person between 10 and 16 years of age.

The three offences allegedly occurred between 1995 and 1997 at the offender’s Braddon home.

After a lengthy investigation, members from ACT Policing Criminal Investigations arrested the man on Wednesday afternoon at City Police Station..

The man was arrested, charged and given conditional Watch House bail. He will face court on June 7.

CT is reporting that the perpetrator is a former Catholic priest. Why are we not surprised? Another great achievement for the Church of Paedophilia.

Funnily enough, it’s unusual for sexually abused children to run to the police immediately. It’s common for them to take years to build the courage to report the abuse.

and adult witnesses are considered more reliable than child witnesses, offset against the passage of time affecting everyone’s memory of who was where and when (which the courts sometimes like to know down to the exact minute). There have been cases, particularly with priests, teachers etc, where the victim has got the identity of the offender wrong.
