Emergency services are at the scene of a large burst water main on Sturt Avenue, Narrabundah which has closed the road.
An ESA spokesperson said the water leak, which has now been contained, impacted a number of properties.
ACT Fire and Rescue, ACT Policing and ACT State Emergency Service are currently at the scene.
ACTSES members are currently doorknocking homes to help impacted residents, as well as completing a damage assessment.
Residents requiring help for flood damage can call the ACTSES on 132 500.
The residential area of Sturt Avenue is not expected to reopen today.
