Firefighters have rescued a dog from inside a burning house in Ainslie on Tuesday afternoon (October 2).

Around 4:30 pm, emergency services were called to a house fire on Paterson Street, Ainslie, with the back of the house ablaze.

No one was home at the time but crews rescued a dog from inside the house, that is now in the care of neighbours.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing but it is believed not to be suspicious.
