Education Department fails in proof reading

I’ve just been looking through a full page ad in the Canberra Chronicle for ACT Public Schools.

It advertises the Information Sessions at Canberra’s High Schools and Colleges throughout May and June.

But every date (or day) is incorrect.

Alfred Deakin High has 2 sessions, on Friday 16 May and Thursday 22 May, but the 16th is a Saturday and the 22nd is a Friday.

There are more than 20 schools listed, and the one day error is repeated for each school.

ACT Public Schools have “so much more to offer”. Their Department might like to catch up

Clearly they got either the departmental moron, or the work experience kid, to do the ad. And without any form of supervision or quality assurance.

And applications closed on 20 June 2008!!!!

What can I say? It’s all those long lunches and coffee breaks….

Dammit, where’s mine?

I think it would be more fun if teachers were to communicate in “Pirate”, like what I’m doing now on Facebook. There’s more room for error.

That’s what happens with government, right? If the government doesn’t like the result of something, it changes the goalposts…?

Arrgh.

The sign out the front of Bonython Primary is currently advising of ‘2010 Erollments’

Oops…

When did the Education Department last pass in proofreading?

Pots and kettles

When did the Eductaion Department last pass in proofreading?

You know the old saying, “you pay peanuts…”

That’s actually quite an issue. They may have to re-issue the ad, which is expensive. That is quite shoddy.

or behind the times

so you’re saying, skid, that act public schools are simply ahead of the game?

maybe they don’t actually want to provide any information; so they can’t be sued for misleading anyone when the kids later fail..? good strategy – 9/10 for effort, but could do better. C-

May 16 was a Friday in 2008, 22 May was a Thursday in 2008. (So probably just rehashed template from last year)
A perpetual calendar says May 16th is next a Friday in 2014.
