Getting a washing machine repaired in Canberra?

By Jono1974 - 31 August 2011 5

Does anyone know a good washing machine repairman?

I have had some trouble with a washing machine and I get the feeling it needs  a service or belt tightening to keep it rolling.

What’s Your opinion?

Answering your question: no.

If all it needs is the belt then it’s pretty bloody easy to do yourself. Do some googling for the right part then either buy it online or from Mayner & Cochrane (I have heard bad reports from them but I’ve bought multiple bits and pieces over the years and had no dramas). 30min of googling + 15 min installation, plus a ~$30 part. Heaps better than a $200 tradie.

It’s pretty easy to do it all your self. just allow a couple of hours.
The hardest part of it all is probably taking out the bearings as in some cases they are pressed.

avoid Mayner & Cochran, even though they were the only licensed LG repairer in canberra it to them 3 weeks to fix my machine, it just needed the filter cleaned no parts were needed to be ordered.

Try

Dave’s Washing Machine Service

Phone: (02) 6231 3714

I have used him and found him very reasonable and the repairs have lasted.

I just replaced the belt on my front loader. Genuine belt was only $32 on ebay, and the job took about 15 minutes including google time to diagnose and get direction on replacing it. What sort of machine is it?
