UPDATED: Motorcyclist dies after accident with truck at Monash

Updated 6:30 pm, 6 September: A male motorcyclist has died following a collision between a truck and a motorcycle on Ashley Drive at Monash at about 11:40 am on Sunday (6 September).

ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Policing were called to the collision in the northbound lane near Barraclough Drive.

The motorcycle rider was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics, however, he died at hospital.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations were carried out and police would like to thank motorists for their patience during this time.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the incident, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.

The families have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time and no further details will be provided.

The man’s death is the fourth fatality on ACT roads this year.
