ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old man of no fixed abode in relation to an aggravated robbery in Holt on Saturday (July 13).

About 11am the alleged offender entered the IGA store in Holt armed with a knife. He threatened staff, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The staff member complied, handing over a sum of cash and cigarettes. The man was seen leaving the area in a white Holden Commodore.

A forensic examination of the crime scene was conducted. About 3.15am this morning (Wednesday, 17 July) members of ACT Policing conducted a vehicle stop on the man. He was subsequently arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.

He has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and will face ACT Magistrates Court this morning. Police will oppose bail.

If he faced court this morning he’s undoubtedly back on the streets by now.

He’s pretty clever driving what is presumably his own car to the robbery and then continuing to drive it several days later. It won’t make much difference anyway, when he eventually goes to court he’ll get nothing more than a slap on the wrist and sent on his merry way and then likely re-offend.

Yeah but there’s 99,999 white commodores left to wreak havoc 🙁
