Person taken to hospital in 'serious' condition after collision in Forde

One person has been taken to hospital in a “serious” condition after a crash in Canberra’s north.

A spokesperson for the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ACT ESA) said a car and a motorcyclist were involved in a collision in Forde on Friday afternoon (21 July).

The two-vehicle incident took place on Horse Park Drive at the intersection with Katherine Avenue.

“One person was taken to hospital in a serious condition by ACT Ambulance Service,” the spokesperson said.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said the collision took place shortly before 2:30 pm.

The motorbike rider sustained a leg injury and was taken to hospital.

“The intersection remains closed while Major Collision Team officers conduct their investigations,” the spokesperson said.

The ACT ESA said in a Facebook post shortly before 3 pm on Friday afternoon (21 July) that the public should find another way to their destination.

“ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Policing are in attendance.

“Horse Park Drive is closed in both directions at the intersection.”

The ACT Policing spokesperson asked that any witnesses contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote P2178908.
