Police Wrap – 2 May

1. Abduction in Kaleen?

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a possible abduction attempt at Kaleen Primary School this afternoon.

Just after 3.00pm a six-year-old boy walking between the primary school and pre-school was approached by a man who attempted to pull him in to some nearby bushes.

Police believe a number of parents intervened, causing the man to leave the school grounds. He was then seen getting in to a light green four-wheel-drive which was parked out the front of the school on Ashburton Circuit.

The man was described as having black hair and wearing a black jumper and black track-suit pants.

Police are urging anyone with information, particularly any of the parents who intervened, to contact [them].

If you can help police contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

The Famous Five were great.

Except for the transexual.

If it was the Famous Five then they would definitely have caught the culprits.

I’m still wondering what TP 3000 was helping the driver with by following his bus and what it’s got to do with the OP.

I think that this may of put the Police off. I say this as I was providing assistance to a following driver on his school run by driving behind him in my private vechile. But Detectives spotted me stopping at each bus stop that the bus did. They then questioned me & searched my vechile (they did get a shock when I had my Rural Fire Service bag in the car with a balaclava & gloves). But I gave the the drivers name, bus number, shift & they left it at that. However they did tell me that this was weird & I am not allowed to do that (I haven’t checked that up yet with Police or Union). But while they had me pulled over a marked Police car drove past.

However 5 years ago there were 2 attacks on school kids in Kambah & for one week 3 Police cars drove up & down the main bike path through Kambah, they had the K9 Unit walking along other footpaths & Police cars at the entrance to each school in Kambah. But the culprits were caught when 50% of Year 10 kids at Kambah High planned a search for the last day of school term. This was found out by the Principle of the time & he let it go ahead, but informed the Police. The Year 10 kids did find the culprits & taught them a lesson & there were no more problems in Kambah.

Smells like… sounds like… school yard bollocks. Too many young teenage adventure novels coming to life?

someoneincanb, I am friends with the family and it most certainly wasn’t a custody-related incident.

I find it a little bizarre that the parents who intervened haven’t provided statements to police.

Or if a father was present in this parental group that the alledged abductor wasn’t detained or at least given a beating. I’m not one normally for mob justice but I make exceptions for child abduction and/or abuse.

I find it bizarre that anyone who was planning to abduct a random child would park the get-away vehicle right out the front of the school at 3pm. Maybe this a custody-related event?

sunshine 5:50 pm 02 May 09

maybe they did and we just don’t know about it
