All week we’ve been hearing from world+dog about just how much Alan Tongue means to Canberra and the Raiders.
Foxsports reports that he didn’t mean enough for the worst ever Raiders outfit to get over a pretty mediocre Penrith outfit, while playing at home.
Moral
Nice guys finish last, literally!! incidentally, so did the club. There is a moral here somewhere, you still need to be able to play the game, well!!!!! or you finish where they did last.

Except that Tongue was a true club legend who stayed through thick and thin, not a talented bloke who walked at the first sign of big money before coming back for a few years super.
I left early because I thought the Raiders had it in the bag. Little did I know they’d find yet another way to lose. They couldn’t even lift themselves to give Alan Tongue a fitting farewell and in front of their great players from the golden era.
Poor Tonguey. He really tried his heart out, and thankfully was rewarded with a great try. He will be sorely missed, as will Josh Miller.
The forwards went okay last night, as did Dugan and Thompson in the backs. As always, lack of good options close to the line cost us the game.
Almost as depressing as Giteau’s send-off against the Lions.
