ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred in Phillip last night (Saturday, September 14).
About 6.55pm, a man entered the Ah Chu Asian Provisions supermarket in Colbee Court, Phillip, wielding a screwdriver and demanding cash from the two staff members. The store had closed for the day when the man entered via the rear of the store.
The offender grabbed the cash drawer which contained a sum of cash and ran out of the store. He was seen to get into a red hatchback with ACT registration which police later identified as being stolen from Ainslie earlier in the day.
The offender is described as having a dark complexion, aged in his 20s, approximately 180cm (5’ 11”) tall, with a medium build and a strong accent, possibly Eastern European or Middle-Eastern.
He was wearing a blue-coloured shirt covering his head, dark clothing and gloves on his hands.
