Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Ashlyn and Fella are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.
Dog of the week: Ashlyn
Meet Ashlyn. She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s looking for a home and a best mate!
Ashlyn is an almost three-year-old Husky with a heart of gold and dazzling looks to match. Since her arrival at the shelter, this girl has really blossomed and come out of her shell. From the shy but sweet and timid girl we once knew to a lovely, polite and energetic dog, she has come a long way.
Ashlyn is still a little underconfident but very clingy, with lots of love to give. She’s a big sook, looking for an owner that she can just adore wholeheartedly.
Ashlyn is looking for a kind-natured owner with previous dog experience to help her continue her learning and training journey. Ashlyn doesn’t really enjoy the company of other pets and will need some time, space and boundaries to become her best self!
Ashlyn would be best suited to a family with older children and an active lifestyle as she needs lots of walks and plenty of attention to keep her happy.
She has the beauty and the brains to become a well-behaved and loving companion dog in a home without other animals, but with an owner that can take her on plenty of adventures and hold her paw along the way.
Cat of the week: Fella
Looking for a best friend? Well, here’s your Fella!
Fella is a soft, kind and gentle-natured boy. We first met him as a stray, he didn’t really like the idea of humans at first, but with time and patience, this little Fella came around.
Through hanging out with the shelter staff and becoming more and more confident, Fella has become quite the playful boy. He is tonnes of fun; Fella will chase a toy and bat a cat wand when he is feeling frisky. With the right home and plenty of time and patience, we know Fella will come out of his shell even more.
Fella still has a bit of learning to do, he has come really far in his journey toward trusting people, but can still be a bit of a nervous boy when meeting new people – letting his cattitude shine through with a little hiss, but hey, meeting new people can be tough.
In the right home, Fella will grow, and his nerves will ease with time. Fella would be happiest in a home without kids or other pets to bother him – this guy is enough all on his own. Ideally, he would like to live with a single person or even a couple, but the idea of many more than that is a bit overwhelming.
Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
