Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Axe and Thea are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Axe

Axe is a sweet, chilled out older gentleman who is looking for a loving retirement home to call his own. Axe is a very soft and gentle boy who is happy to say hello to other dogs but isn’t overly interested in playing.

Axe doesn’t seem to have much interest in toys, but he is particularly amazing at finding comfy spots for a good snooze. He is a great companion when visiting the office and often loves to keep his humans company.

This sweet boy is lovely to walk on lead and enjoys his regular walks with our volunteers. As an older fellow, he’d make the perfect companion to someone willing to let him indoors while people are at home.

Axe will perfectly suit a family with older children, but it is important that introductions are made prior to adoption. We recommend that all interactions between children and dogs are monitored.

Thea

Cat of the Week – Thea

Sweet Thea is looking for her forever home. This lady found herself at the shelter as a stray and is ready to find her perfect match. Thea is a very sweet and social cat. She loves to receive pats and will even lick and nibble on your chin if you let her!

She would love to find a quiet home as she can become a little bit reclusive or overstimulated around unexpected noises and movements. Thea could live with older children but she is unsure about tiny humans.

Thea will require an indoor-only home to ensure she is kept safe and secure. The outside world is very scary for this little lady. Thea could potentially live with another pet, but slow introductions must be implemented to ensure they get along.

Sweet Thea is excited to find the perfect match to call her own. This sweet lady will make the best companion to someone who has a lot of love to share. If you think you could have the purrfect home for Thea, make sure you come and speak with our team.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
