Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Blaze, Bella and Porridge are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cats of the Week – Blaze & Bella

Meet Blaze and Bella! This bonded pair of cats was surrendered to the shelter and are looking for their new forever home. Blaze and Bella are a quiet pair hoping to find their new home away from the hustle and bustle of the shelter environment.

This is sadly Blaze’s third time here at the shelter, so he’d really love to make sure this home is the one that sticks. Blaze is the epitome of a gentle giant, and while he often likes to pretend he is a grumpy boy, deep down he is a sucker for a good pat and gentle brush.

Bella is the more spontaneous of the pair. She’ll pop out to greet anyone with a loud meow and ask for cuddles. It will take a little bit of time for this pair, especially Blaze, to settle into their new home, so the pair’s new humans need to have a quiet and mature home for them.

Blaze and Bella aren’t interested in living with other pets but could live with older children. Both cats must be indoors only. Bella and Blaze are both clinically overweight, so will need a good quality diet.

Porridge

Porridge, the bird, is singing out for a new forever home.

Bird of the Week – Porridge

After losing his partner last year, Porridge arrived at the shelter in need of some help. Porridge the yellow canary is looking for the perfect match to call his own, just in time for Valentine’s day.

Porridge would love to find a new home with lots of treats, toys and enrichment to help keep him happy and healthy.

Porridge is a handsome, senior gentleman who still has plenty of love and songs to offer. He hopes to find a lovely little canary friend that he can harmonise with, filling a new home with sweet singing all day long.

Porridge is currently housed inside but could cope in an outdoor aviary, as long as the temperature does not become too extreme. If you have a canary friend at home who’s looking for some love make sure to book a date in with the team.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
