Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Clayton and Jareth are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Clayton

Meet the young Clayton.

He first came to the shelter as a stray pup when he was three months old. He was adopted briefly, but he was returned as the family didn’t like Clayton’s puppy “happy hour.”

Clayton has been in our care since late June and we really want to find a home for this boy. He likes playing to an audience, and he would benefit from someone who can give him clear and consistent guidelines. He was born in January this year, so he’s still a young boy and has lots to learn, but he can learn.

We would love to see Clayton go to a home with an experienced owner who’s active and confident with dogs. Someone who can give Clayton the love, exercise, guidance and mental stimulation he needs.

Clayton responds well to rewards-based training and is eager to spend his day with his family members. When he is left alone, Clayton can settle nicely if given things to do.

If you want a second dog, Clayton’s best match would be with an older female dog of a similar size who can manage his puppy playfulness.

Come on down and meet our boy, Clayton.

Rabbit of the Week – Jareth

Poor Jareth had a rough start to life. He came in as a stray, and he’s clearly been bullied by another rabbit. Despite our best efforts, he is still sporting some marks from them. As a result, his nose is less beautiful than others, but rest assured, this is just a little quirk that causes no issues. It adds to his charm.

Jareth is looking for a calm home where he can have time and space to settle in and get to know his people. He should be housed indoors or in a secure outdoor enclosure. He has shown some interest in rabbits around him, and a desexed, calm and friendly female would be the best fit for this shy little man. He needs someone who can help him build his confidence and show him love and kindness.

Come on down to the shelter and meet our lovely man Jareth.
