Dog of the Week – Bella
Bella is simply stunning. She has a gorgeous silvery brown coat and lovely amber eyes. Her perfectly pointed ears show she’s ready to listen and are a nod to her Kelpie roots. She has missed out on some of the good things in life, such as socialisation and a loving home, though.
At first, she was quite timid and fearful of the shelter environment but has blossomed in care and is now rather confident. Full of enthusiasm, this energetic lady is ready to get active with her new owners.
Bella would benefit from a quieter home with someone who likes bush walks and exercising. She would benefit from having a good routine. Bella loves her daily walks and her favourite toy is, you guessed it, a tennis ball! She is also quite food-motivated, so during training, be sure to pack some treats for rewards.
Bella has lived with another dog before, so we think she’d be open to having a new friendly male as a companion. As always, any other dogs will need to meet before adoption. We’d recommend Bella for children aged over 12.
Cat of the Week – Heinz
Baked beans are a warm comfort for a lot of people, just like little Heinz! Heinz’s name comes from his beautiful orange colouring and not to mention his adorable little toe beans. Heinz is a perfectly lovely gentleman with a small, sweet smile. It’s impossible to look at Heinz and not want to shower him in loving pats and coos of adoration. He’s more than happy to repay your attention with gentle purrs and face rubs.
Heinz came to us suffering from some bad medical complications after being involved in some cat fights. We’ve patiently and lovingly brought him back to health, though, and he’s feeling much better. You’ll need to still be gentle with him as his recovery will take time, but this is one resilient kitty!
Because of his past conflicts, Heinz is FIV positive, so he’ll need ongoing treatment. This is easily managed, and our shelter staff are happy to help guide adopters through this. For this reason, he’ll need to be an indoor-only cat and the only feline in his new home.
Heinz is a lover of most people, especially when they come bearing gifts of food! Heinz is on a special Hills diet, which our cattery staff will discuss further with adopters.
Heinz is a sweet and loving cat who would be an excellent companion for someone looking for a feline friend.
Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
