Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
This week’s loving cat and dog are pooch Rosa and cool cat Jack.
Cat of the Week – Jack
Jack arrived at the Shelter in a peculiar way … he was found hidden in a drain between our adoption centre and our car park. Perched on some leaves, the team sprang into action to retrieve him and bring Jack out of harm’s way. We set up a humane cat trap with some yummy food and waited patiently for Jack to make his way to the cage. When morning came, Jack was inside the trap and made his journey up to the Cattery.
Jack has been extremely popular among our staff and volunteers. He has proven to be very affectionate and loves people! Jack loves nothing more than curling up in a sunny spot and having an afternoon snooze. Jack certainly isn’t this way all the time, and can have active periods throughout the day.
Jack would love nothing more than to live with a cat-experienced family that will know when to give him his own space. This lovely boy suffers from a medical condition that affects his heart and must be taken into consideration by potential adopters.
Dog of the Week – Rosa
Daring Rosa is a sweet young pooch and ready to find a forever family that can provide games, fun and lots of love. Rosa is still a young dog and is working hard on her doggy manners. It will be important for Rosa to continue learning about the big world after her adoption with plenty of socialisation and training while she is still young. Rosa loves treats so using food as motivation will be an excellent training tool for this young sweetheart.
Rosa came into the Shelter as a stray, so we have limited information about her parentage. However, from our assessments, we believe she will grow into an active, medium-sized girl who will need lots of games and daily walking to ensure she stays happy and healthy.
Rosa loves to spend her time on walks with our volunteers or out in the yard playing with toys. This darling is constantly learning new things and is eager to join a family that will take her on adventures and spoil her like the true princess she is.
Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored by an adult.
