Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Keely and Samson are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cat of the Week – Keely

Our cat of the week is the frisky feline Keely. This is Keely’s second time in the shelter, unfortunately, after she found her way back here through no fault of her own.

While Keely is well looked after by our cattery staff, she’s made it fairly clear that she is not exactly happy to be here. Please don’t be discouraged if Keely is a little shy if you visit her at the shelter, the shelter environment can make some cats a bit withdrawn. That’s not to say Keely is not a lovely cat though, she just needs the right home environment where she can settle in and blossom!

Keely is a cat that we think is best-suited bonding with either one or two people. She does not love parties of people and would much rather be a homebody. We can just picture her curled up watching a show with her favourite pals. It might take Keely a little bit of time to adjust to her new surroundings and come out of her shell, but so long as she has a safe and quiet space to chill in, she should be a happy kitty in no time.

If you’re looking for a friend to laze away the days with, Keely is the cat for you – provided you supply some scratches and tummy rubs here and there.

Samson

Could you be Samson’s new family?

Dog of the Week – Samson

Samson has had a bit of a rough start to life, but you can’t keep a good dog down! Samson is very sweet but, unfortunately, has missed out on early socialisation. However, he is very keen to learn. We’re hoping he can find a new home where his new owners can take a bit of time with him to get him back on track.

Samson is particularly “paws-on” when it comes to expressing his love for people. His new owners will need to make sure that when he starts to get too boisterous, they can remind him of his manners. Samson also adores playing games, so if you’re looking for an exercise buddy, he would be more than happy to oblige.

Samson has previously lived with another dog, so we think he’d make a good match for an older friendly female whose doggy manners will hopefully rub off on him. We think Samson would make a good friend for children 12 years and older.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
