Demander of attention… Mao Mao needs a family to call his own.

Meet our lovable ‘Pets of the Week’ looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

This week, say hello to cuddly cat Mao Mao and treat lover Bart.

Cat of the Week – Mao Mao

Mao Mao here is in the market for a brand new dedicated home with an extra loving family. Mao Mao has grown up predominately being an outdoor cat, due to his previous family owning another indoor companion that was not quite getting along with him. However, in Mao Mao’s new home he would love the opportunity to be inside with his people.

Mao Mao loves attention and can get quite demanding with our staff for their cuddles. This sweet boy loves his pats, but also knows how to enjoy some time apart to do important ‘cat things’ like climbing and napping.

Mao Mao has previously lived with a mature 13-year-old child, and would be much happier not sharing his space with other animals at this time.

This cute cat is a happy and calm young man who needs to find a warm and safe home where he can have as much or as little attention as he desires. Mao Mao would also benefit from a little weight-loss to ensure he is kept in a healthy and happy condition.

Mao Mao is willing and waiting to find that special family to call his own, the sooner the better for this cuddly cat.

Full of energy, Bart needs an active family to love.

Dog of the Week – Bart

Gorgeous Bart is a lovely boy who is absolutely thrilled about life! When meeting new friends, he may be a little cautious at first, but with some gentle eyes and tasty treats he will warm up quickly as he gets to know you.

Bart loves his time walking daily with our volunteers and chasing tennis balls out in our yard (he’s still learning how to pick them up, but the run is worth it). This handsome pooch also really loves his treats, making for easy future training.

Bart needs a family that’s going to help build up his confidence and give him love to last a lifetime.

Working breed dogs like Bart are generally loyal to a fault. But they also have boundless energy to spare and often a high working drive. We thoroughly encouraged anyone interested in adopting Bart to fully consider whether they will be able to meet his needs as he will require plenty of exercise and enrichment to ensure he doesn’t become destructive when bored.

Bart will suit an active family, people who enjoy running and bike riding. He will not suit apartment or townhouse living.

We recommend Bart for a family with children eight years and older. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.
