Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Winston and Gareth are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Winston

Winston is the definition of a ‘good-boy dog’. He’s a young and enthusiastic dog – a Labrador x Greyhound – and typical of the Labrador breed, he has a lot of love to give.

Winston can be so loving and likes to show it by being a jumpy bundle of activity. He would be best suited to an experienced new owner who can commit to giving this teenage boy the training he needs, as well as physical and mental stimulation and activity.

His ideal home would be a home with an active owner without children or other pets who can give him the guidance he needs to be a great adult dog.

The sweetest boy Gareth.

Cat of the Week – Gareth

Meet Gareth, who was brought to RSPCA ACT from the Animal Referral Hospital. He arrived in bad shape. Suspected of being hit by a car, Gareth has been through the wars and come out the other side mostly unscathed. Gareth made a slow recovery to start with but has improved very rapidly over the past few weeks.

Gareth is now a high-functioning, mobile cat with quite a personality! However, we do not know how much further recovery Gareth will achieve, as sometimes it can take up to six months to recover from this sort of trauma.

Gareth is a lovely cat and will do well in a home that has experience with special-needs animals. He appreciates time to himself but will also come to you for pats, snuggles and food (oh, he loves his food). He will need to be an only cat from here on out; he’s not too keen on other animals. He would also suit a home without children. He loves to be petted and will spend most of his time sitting beside you or chilling under your desk. He’d be perfect for someone who works from home.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
