Who is this candidate?

Just found this in my mailbox, a photocopy of a handwritten pamphlet:

In one small but slightly useful piece of information, Kerri Taranto apparently features fairly high on the Libs’ how-to-vote card.

I guess we could say that if you trust the Libs then rank her high, if not, rank her low.

I tried the email and it bounced, I tried calling and it went to an answering machine. I asked a friend of mine who works with a political party and they know nothing either… how weird. And kinda annoying!

The AEC’s list of the candidates’ contact details have only PO Box 954 CIVIC SQUARE PRIVATE BOXES ACT 2608

(I find it a little unsettling that a lot have home addresses, phones and emails listed)

More Googling found that the Axolotl group are metal finishers involved partly in posh garden structures, walls, water features etc.

They are based in Matraville NSW (???) however they have listed phone numbers in each state including the ACT. http://www.outdoordesign.com.au/category.act?categoryid=00232#011897

If however you google the Canberra contact number it comes up as the same phone number as the “Snowy River Sign Co” in Jindabyne. ABN search reveals this ACT registered company went into liquidation 2 years ago. A white pages search finds and R Taranto in Jindabyne. Nil in the ACT.

So what have we possibly learned about this candidate?:
– Kerri TARANTO is the registered owner of a business “Axolotyl” which appears/possibly is a part of or subsidiary company of the Axolotl Group who designs (amongst other things) posh metal garden ornaments, water features etc. She calls this profession Landscape Design Technician.
– The contact details for this company are actually in Jindabyne and also previously operated under the business name “Snowy River Sign Co” who apparently did work on the Lovett Tower in Woden.
– White pages reveals she most likely lives in Jindabyne.

Interesting. Axolotyl is a range of ‘paint’ type surfaces which accurately emulate metals of many varied finishes, and can be applied to a vast array of substrates. Can be seen on the portico of Lovett Tower in Woden (the old MLC Tower).

The local supplier/applicator is located in the Snowy Mountains. There is no acknowledged Canberra operator.
