Police seek witnesses after Canberra Metro staff member assaulted on light rail

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a Canberra Metro staff member was assaulted while on board a light rail vehicle.

Around 4:15 pm on 21 June, a man boarded a Gungahlin-bound light rail vehicle at the Alinga Street station.

Police allege the 48-year-old man assaulted a Canberra Metro staff member before he exited the light rail at the Gungahlin Place station.

The man has been arrested but police are still calling for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
