Witnesses sought to aggravated robbery in Fyshwick

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred in Fyshwick last night (Monday, July 7).

About 8.25pm a man has entered the Hello Sexy Adult store on Wollongong Street, Fyshwick, carrying a machete. The man threatened the employee with the machete and demanded cash, to which the employee complied.

No other persons were present during the robbery and no one was injured.

The offender is described as having a solid build, approximately 180cm (5’11”) tall and speaking with an accent, possibly Greek or Lebanese. He was wearing a black balaclava, sunglasses, dark clothing and gloves.

The offender may be driving a 90’s model Toyota Hilux, dark blue in colour with a white canopy.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, been in the area of Wollongong or Gladstone Street between 8pm and 8.30pm, or have any information to assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
