ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred in Lyons today (Saturday, June 22).
At approximately 11am, a man entered the IGA Supermarket and threatened staff with a knife.
The offender left the shop with the store till which contained a sum of cash.
The male is described as Caucasian. He is about 165cm tall with a thin build. He is believed to be between 40 to 50 years of age. He was wearing sunglasses, gloves and a silver jumper with the hood up.
The man was then seen getting into a maroon Holden Commodore station wagon parked approximately ten metres from the shop.
Police would like to speak to a woman in a red jumper who entered the store prior to the man and may be able to assist with the investigation.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of the Lyons shops at the time of the incident and may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact police on 131 444.
