Police have charged a 27-year-old Ngunnawal man with a number of offences after he stole tools and then allegedly threatened a man with a knife on Thursday morning (15 August).
It is alleged the man stole tools from a ute parked outside a house in Taylor. When the owner of the tools confronted the thief at a petrol station in Casey, he reportedly threatened the person with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Following an investigation by Gungahlin officers, a silver Holden Commodore sedan was recovered earlier this week and the man was arrested on Wednesday (21 August).
He has been charged with theft, assault and possessing an offensive weapon with intent and is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon (22 August).
The stolen tools have been recovered by police and have been returned to their owner.
Anyone with information about this matter is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
