Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Tahlia and Bette are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.
Dog of the week – Tahlia
Hairdresser wanted! Tahlia has a wonderful and luxurious coat and would love to be pampered and brushed daily. No dreadlocks here, please.
Tahlia in Hebrew means Heaven’s Dew, which is very apt: heavenly, gorgeous eyes that will look into your soul and capture your heart.
Alternatively, her name means Morning Dew, which is also fitting: Tahlia would be best exercised and walked earlier in the mornings (and evenings), especially in summer during the hotter months. Tahlia is an intelligent dog and quick to learn. She will respond well to plenty of enrichment, puzzles and exercise to keep her sharp mind occupied.
Tahlia is polite dog and will even shake hands when she greets you (if there’s a treat on offer, of course). Once greeted, you may well be subjected to full-body hugs if she feels so inclined.
She is pretty adventurous and always seeking new things to learn about. Make sure you have good fencing and a secure yard if you’re interested in adopting her or that inquisitive nature could lead to unplanned escapades. Best kept on a lead when out walking, Tahlia likes the thrill of the chase.
Tahlia would prefer to be the centre of attention and would thrive as the only dog in the household.
Cat of the week – Bette
Beautiful Bette is an elegant old lady who came to the RSPCA as a stray in September last year.
Bette appreciates her freedom to embody her independent nature, set on her character as a three-pat-cat. She enjoys lounging around, ensuring she gets enough beauty sleep before exuding all of her energy enjoying her food from the platter you best be serving it on.
Bette loves conversations and will listen to you intently while gazing at you with her big, beautiful eyes. Did we mention her last name is Davis? That being said, being a high-value cat and all, Bette enjoys being at the centre of your world. This means she won’t tolerate any other pets or young kids. Comfy couches and beds, on the other hand … much more tolerable.
Other than needing yummy medicine for her aches and pains, Bette would love a kind and patient owner who’d be happy to accommodate an aloof yet easygoing new master.
Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
