Not so much, but when the last thing you see when walking in to vote is a Latest Scare Campaign sign in a place easily verifiable as being illegal and the candidates’ supporters not caring about law, it kind of sticks in your mind when you’re filling in some numbers less than a minute later.

By not voting based on party affiliation, having done some research into relevant candidates previous achievements, and immediately giving my low-value numbers to those people who shit me the most, having some juggling go on for the “maybe these will be relevant if someone dies during their term” countback numbers, and then for my 1-7 range going with the results of making up my mind prior to election day and not being easily swayed by the “We will shower gold from the sky”promise vagaries of the campaign?

Steele, I have been expressing my intention to change votes, yet am no party hack. In fact, I have been posting on Riot since at least 2007 (the last time I got a new password). How about you? I don’t recall seeing your name on Riot before . . . ?

Since all 3 parties did the first (every party has had non-compliant signs, the media coverage suggests that the Libs just had more) and last (the Libs will sack all the ACTPS), I assume you really meant the dearth of policies for the last four years.

Yes it’s true. Rangers forcing them to take them down. Max size is 1200×900. Also reports of them being put back up after the ranger leaves! Some confiscations in Belco.

I’m trying to decide whether the OP’s post is a wind up, or they really have a say in the future direction of democracy in the ACT – a chilling thought if the latter.

I voted early (but not often) this election and took great pleasure in numbering all 20 of the boxes on my Brindabella ballot paper. It’s a lot of fun to be able to preference against the incumbents.

I’m hearing on twitter, from Labor wonks admittedly, that the Liberals signs were too large and too close to the polling places.
I’ve yet to head out to a polling place so I haven’t seen it for myself.

Thanks for the support, I’m proud to be among the first in the pirate movement, along with Mark Gibbons and Stuart Biggs. to go to an election in Australia, and look forward to seeing the party become a strong force in Australian politics at all levels over the coming years.

Given that you have to be 100 mts from booths, the ALP actually manned shopping centres near booths today. I drove past Florey and Jamison and saw crews of young ALP supporters talking to people at the shops and then stopped by Kippax, same deal; probably more than a dozen or so at Kippax alone.

If any party can’t get volunteers, you can bet it’s the Liberals; hence why they rely on hideous banners and trailers carrying Zed’s face all around town.
