Locals are being urged to attend today’s Control and Choice Expo to experience some of the supports and services that will be on offer under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Minister for Disability Joy Burch said “The NDIS will begin in the ACT on 1 July this year. The Expo is the first of its kind in Canberra and is a fantastic opportunity to see what’s out there.”
“More than 100 exhibitors will be at the Expo – from advocacy, education and employment services to products, lifestyle options and accommodation supports.”
“The NDIS is changing the way disability services and supports are funded, and it’s important that people with disability know what’s out there and what’s available to them.”
The Control and Choice Expo is being held at the Budawang Pavilion, Exhibition Park from 10am to 4pm today [Thursday 22 May]. It has been organised by Advocacy for Inclusion with support from the ACT Government.
