The National Capital Authority advise that their work on the Kings Avenue overpass is bearing fruit.

To this end from around midday on Tuesday there will be changed traffic movements which will include:

    — the ability for east-bound Parkes Way traffic (from the city) to turn right from the new up-ramp across the new bridge to Kings Avenue-south
    — decommissioning and removal of the airport-side (eastern) U-turn and temporary traffic lights on Morshead Drive
    — west-bound Morshead Drive traffic (from the airport) turning left onto Kings Avenue can use the current temporary single dedicated by-pass lane and also by-pass the new bridge traffic lights
    — temporary closure of the eastern side of Kings Avenue-north between Russell Drive and the new bridge (new access arrangements will apply to the adjacent car park)

The NCA ask you to find another way to work and advise they’ll be giving the Canberra Times lots of money.

ffs the NCA could have released the same thing in pdf on their website…..instead of trying to force us to buy outdated print media.

So, with the decommissioning and removal of the airport-side (eastern) U-turn and temporary traffic lights on Morshead Drive, what does the traffic wanting to go from Russell Offices to the Kings Ave Bridge do?

I figure that for the time being they will go down Russell street and turn right at Morshead Drive. When it’s finished it’ll be a clear run for traffic past the bridge and into the city, and traffic lights to and from Russell Offices and from Kings Avenue towards the city and the airport.

So, with the decommissioning and removal of the airport-side (eastern) U-turn and temporary traffic lights on Morshead Drive, what does the traffic wanting to go from Russell Offices to the Kings Ave Bridge do?
